Support the Ridgefield Library: Ways to Give

The Ridgefield Library is incorporated as a private library association, established as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. While recognized as the provider of public library service for the town of Ridgefield, the Library receives only a portion of its annual operating budget from a town grant. Each year the Library needs private donations totaling 30 cents of every dollar spent. Your generosity enables the Ridgefield Library to continue to offer a wide range of collections, superior programs, state-of-the-art technology, and a stellar staff, and to maintain the outstanding quality of our Library. Donations of all levels are most appreciated and recognized in various categories.

Give to the Ridgefield Library Tributes Gift Program

Tribute gifts in memory or in honor of someone may be designated for use where needed most, or for a donation of $35 or more, a book or other item can be purchased and personalized with a bookplate listing the donor and honoree. The Library will make every effort to choose items in a format or subject area of your preference, subject to our Materials Selection Policy. You will receive a tax acknowledgement, and your honoree or the family of the memorialized individual will be sent a card notifying them of your donation.

Give to the Noreen L. Papa “Mothers: Live Your Life” Fund of the Ridgefield Library

Established at the Ridgefield Library in 2014 in partnership with her family and friends, the Mothers: Live Your Life fund honors Noreen L. Papa, a Ridgefield mom, library advocate, and early supporter of the Run Like a Mother 5K who died of colon cancer in 2013.

Contributions to this Fund support Library programs and collections dedicated to women’s health and wellness, specifically to educating mothers to take care of themselves so they can take care of others. Donations to the Fund may be dedicated to Noreen or made in honor or memory of another important woman in your life.

Join the Ridgefield Library Guardian Society

To help secure the future of our beloved institution, we invite you to consider membership in the Ridgefield Library Guardian Society each year. To rise to the challenge of meeting the increasing and ever more diverse needs of the community, we rely on the steadfast commitment of private donors who understand the enduring value of libraries in our society.

Guardian Society donors are individuals, families, and organizations who believe in the Ridgefield Library and are committed to its ongoing success. With an annual financial contribution of $1,000 or more, each donor helps to uphold the Library—our programs, resources, and presence in the town of Ridgefield.

The Guardian Society consists of several levels of annual giving, starting at $1,000:

Chairman’s Circle $10,000 and above

President’s Circle $5,000 – $9,999

Director’s Circle $2,500 – $4,999

Benefactor’s Circle $1,000 – $2,499
