Intro to Understanding Racism

This guide is intended to provide general information about understanding and combatting racism. It is by no means exhaustive nor does it capture all of the many facets of the larger conversations about the issues surrounding racism. It is intended to serve as an introduction to these issues and as a starting place for finding information from a variety of sources.  It will be updated and expanded.

“Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly.  I can never be what I ought to be until you are what you ought to be.  This is the interrelated structure of reality.”                                                                       - Martin Luther King

Let no one be discouraged by the belief there is nothing one person can do against the enormous array of the world's ills, misery, ignorance, and violence. Few will have the greatness to bend history, but each of us can work to change a small portion of events. And in the total of all those acts will be written the history of a generation.”

- Robert Kennedy
