Open all components
Determine if any components need to be altered for circulation
Score pads and pencils should not circulate because that will cause the weight to vary, instead replace pencil with dry erase marker and laminate a few copies of the score sheets
Add game title, # of players, play time, genre, ages, components list to GAME LIST
Create a QR Code for a short instructional video on playing the game
Update the QR Code Instructions list, if applicable
Count all pieces
Scan the cover or photo of completed puzzle and save in S:\AllStaff\Gaming\Cover and Puzzle Scans Folder with name of puzzle
Print and laminate scan and place in box
Instructions and game boards can get a green Ridgefield Library sticker, with a piece of book tape over it
All other pieces receive “RL” in black sharpie
Avoid covering pertinent information or graphics on both the box and on individual components
Do not label individual cards
Create a contents list, box label and QR code using this template for games and this template for puzzles
Include all components in a box including dry erase markers and laminated score sheets
Print a copy of the Games & Puzzles Circulation Policy
Create a Spine Label for the game, affix to the right side, cover with label protector or tape
Laminate:
Rule books or instructions
Paper components that will not withstand repeated use i.e. maps, score sheets

QR Code-create concurrently with the digital aspect of processing

Contents and Circulation policy belong on the inside cover of the box, side by side
If there are instruction on the cover of the box, affix them to the inside bottom of the box, or leave them loose in the box
Front of box label should be in the lower left-hand corner of the front of the box, unless it obscures the title
If the label obscures the title, determine an aesthetically pleasing location to affix it
Place the QR code on the back of the box in the lower right-hand corner

Place the “RETURN TO CIRC DESK” and either side by side or below the barcode, unless it would obscure the title or pertinent graphics
Trim labels if necessary
Affix spine label to right side and cover with label protector or tape (ask Collection Management if needed)

3. If it does exist, select "Y" and you are done with the spreadsheet.

Board: Has a game board
Card: relies on cards for game play
Dice: relies on dice for game play
Other: Uses alternate mechanisms for play (i.e. Jenga, Don't Break the Ice)
