Expediting Your Passport

The National Passport Information Center (NPIC) is once again offering expedited service.  As of February 2024, expedited passports take 2-3 weeks and routine processing time is 6-8 weeks from the time received.

Local Passport agencies and centers can assist customers who need a passport in the next 72 hours (3 business days) for a life-or-death emergency. Customers must make an appointment for life-or-death emergency service by contacting the NPIC and cannot walk in to passport agencies or centers.
