The Ridgefield Library is committed to being a resource for expanding knowledge for the community it serves and responding to the multi-faceted needs of its patrons by offering free access to a variety of technology and technology services. Public computers, printing, faxing, copying and Wi-Fi are available any time that the Library is open.

Internet & Wireless Access

Wi-Fi access 

  • free and available in the building, lawn and parking lot
  • Available 24/7
  • No password required

 

Wired Internet Access

  • Computer stations on the Upper Level are in areas shared by patrons of all ages and are not filtered.
  • Computers in the Children’s Room provide filtered access to the Internet. These computers are intended for children in Grades K-5 and their accompanying caregiver.

Patrons are required to follow the Ridgefield Library Internet and Workstation Use and the Acceptible Use policies while accesses in the internet in the Library regardless of public or private devices.

Printing & Copying

Cost for Prints & Copies

  • Black & White: 20¢ per page     
  • Color: 50¢ per page

Copiers

  • Main and Upper Levels of the building
  • Letter, legal and ledger sized paper available

Printing

  • All public and private internet-enabled devices
  • Letter and legal sized paper available
  • All files sent to the print queue are deleted at closing each day

Print by dropbox:

  • Navigate to print.princh.com and enter printer ID 106439 if prompted.
  • Upload the document or documents that you need to print and adjust to your preferred settings.
  • Visit the Adult Service Desk to pay for and release your print job.

Scanning & Faxing

Scans

  • Scan documents by email, flash drive or paper*
  • No charge for scanning
  • Black & white and color
  • Available to save as: PDF, PNG, JPEG, TIFF and Word.

Outgoing Faxes

  • $1 per page
  • maximum page limit of 24 pages per session
  • black & white one
  • No incoming fax service.

Microfilm Machine

The microfilm machine is located on the Upper Level. The following materials are available on microfilm:

  • The Ridgefield Press, from 1875 - 2003
    • The Ridgefield Press, from 2004-2018, is available on our public computers
    • The Ridgefield Press, from 2019 - present, is available in hard copy. Please inquire at the Adult Services desk to view it.
  • Fairfield County Census, 1790-1920

The microfilm machine is funded by the Friends of the Ridgefield Library.
